ABOUT US
Social Welfare Agency &
Training Institute (SWATI) is a non-governmental voluntary organization
working since 1997 in the field of Rural and Tribal development. After a
couple of years of its tryst with social work, SWATI got registered under
Societies Registration Act. In the year 2001, it got registered under the
Foreign Contribution Regulation Act of 1976 and under 12AA of IT Act, 1961.
During its less than a
decade of its existence, SWATI has received recognition from many civil
society networks. It is a member of PAG(Phulbani Action Group), BLCC (Block
Level Coordination Committee), DLCC (District Level Coordination Committee),
KLIF (Kandhamal Livelihood Initiative Forum), KADAM (Kandhamal Action for
Disaster Management), SANJOJANA, OVHA, FEVORD, YES (Youth Employment
Service) Orissa Chapter, SOS (Save Our Sisters) Orissa Chapter and AVARD
(Association of Voluntary Agencies for Rural Development) to name a few of
the networks in block, district, state and national level.
In course of its journey to
scale ever-higher reaches of development, SWATI has moved from awareness
generation among the people on health and sanitation to Natural Resource
Management and livelihood programs through building sustainable community
organizations. It is really difficult to map the progress of an organization
in phases, and more so, in case of a developmental organization like SWATI,
for within its early years of its involvement is discernible the guiding
principles encapsulated in kits mission and vision that have found
expression in a more visible form with the passing time.
